Tina Brown, age 83, of Pikeville, TN, died Thursday, June 23, 2022. She was a lifelong member of the Church of Christ and was involved in children’s ministries and various ladies church groups. She was actively involved with positively impacting children’s lives through the Head Start program and her final role was
Education Coordinator across five counties. Tina also enjoyed the friendship of the Pikeville Ladies Garden Club.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Benny Swafford Brown and David C. Goodland; father, Claud Summers; mother, Effie Cagle Summers Farmer; step-father, Sam Farmer; brothers, Kenneth Summers, Jimmy Summers, Eddie Summers, Jerry Summers and Ronny Summers.
She is survived by her children, Benny Schawn (Carol) Brown of Pikeville, TN, Cynthia Brown (Larry) Cowell of Newnan, GA, and Stephen A. (Allison) Brown of Franklin, TN; 7 grandchildren; one brother, Bobby Summers; and several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held Saturday, June 25, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. CDT at Pikeville Cemetery. Online condolences can be made at www.reedfamilyfh.com. Arrangements by Putnam-Reed Funeral Home, Pikeville, TN. Visitation will be held Friday, June 24, 2022 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. CDT and Saturday June 25, 2022 from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. CDT. Memorial contributions can be made to the Pikeville Cemetery Association.
